Cobb the town elder stands by the portal with sixty years of the coast in his beard. Beside the portal is a chest tarred against the damp, so what you carry out of Ashvale has somewhere to sit.

Orin the armourer has opened the Saltmere Armoury by the anvil, and he carries the mithril that Ashvale does not. He buys weapons, armour, ammo and packs.

On the quay side: Mabb the sailmaker, Tolly the dockhand and Perla the net-mender, who will all talk to you and none of them will sell you anything.

Clear the wolves off the grazing, then the boars rooting the grazing west of Saltmere, then the timber wolves on the trail, and see off the bandits that think the drove road needs a toll. He pays in muscle, a drover's pack and a helmet.

If another player takes your drop, it settles at once, and they get that exact piece.

A hawk carries a third of what you can and has 9 bag slots: whatever is in your lower slots falls when you take wing. Carry too much and the hawk lands and hops about at a crawl.

High in the air nothing on the ground can touch you, but while you dive you can be hit. Lose all your hawk HP and you tumble down as yourself.

A hawk can pick things up, catch fish with no tool (just swoop on a fishing spot), and perch in a tree on the side you tap.

Elder Maren gives you an Ashvale stone. Use it anywhere and it brings you home to Ashvale, once every 30 minutes, as often as you like.

Town portals: Ashvale and Saltmere each have a ring of standing stones. Touch one and you are attuned; from any portal you can travel to every town whose portal you have touched.

Stacks trade in any amount you choose: tap the logs and say how many. When a trade settles, what you gave leaves your bag at once and what you got lands in it. Trades of several items at once are on the way.
